Can Suppressor

A muzzle device that uses slim energy drink cans as a hot-swappable rifling shroud, fully printed with no hardware.
Compatible Rifling:
- Thantacles RIPPCAR
- ZWQ Cyclone Bcar
Incompatible Rifling:
- GFZ Bcar (it fits but bearings rub)
- All Sabre Bcars
Printing
Everything can be printed with 3 walls to avoid infill along the threads while keeping the assembly light. The parts are pre-oriented, so you shouldn’t need to change anything.
Prepping the Can
Required Tools
- 1x hobby knife
- 1x sheet of sandpaper. The grit doesn’t matter, but coarser is faster - I use 220.
Step 1
Source a can, diameter of ~58mm (2.28in), length of ~156mm (6.14in). Alani and Celsius 12oz cans should both work.
Step 2
Trace along the inside groove of the lid with a hobby knife until there is a clean cut, allowing you to remove the lid. This will take a while but gives the best result. Then, sand the edge smooth for a nicer finish.
Step 3
Clean out the can with whatever method you prefer. I use Windex and a paper towel.
Step 4
Place a piece of sandpaper on your desk and sand down the bottom lip in a circular motion to remove the bottom of the can.
Assembly - No Hardware Required
All files have their quantity required at the front of the file name, for example: [2x file.stl]
Step 1
Gather your four Cells and insert them into the can in the order 1, 2, 1, 2 (big, small, big, small).
Step 2
Gather the Mid Clamp Section, End Nuts, and Torx Tools. Check that your threads are clear, then thread one End Nut onto one side of the Mid Clamp Section, slide it into the can, then thread the other End Nut on by hand. Once both nuts are on, insert one Torx Tool into each End Nut and tighten as much as possible.
Step 3 (Optional)
Sand down the seam line on the Barrel Shaft Main and lubricate the section that comes into contact with the Main Collet.
Step 4
Take the Main Collet and thread it onto the Barrel Shaft Main to start your Main Assembly.
Step 5
The Barrel Collet is directional: point the end with the chamfer towards the blaster. Slide on to your barrel in this order; the Barrel Nut, Barrel Collet, Main Assembly, and rifling.
Step 6
Secure / tighten your rifling. Next push the Main Assembly and Barrel Collet up to the rifling, and hand tighten the Barrel Nut.
Step 7
Use the two Wrenches, grip them hard, and tighten the Barrel Nut as much as possible.
Step 8
Make sure your Main Collet is backed out as far as possible towards the Barrel Nut and blaster, then slide your can onto the system such that the Torx head is inserted. Twist the can counter-clockwise to tighten until snug. To loosen, twist the can clockwise while pushing it into the Torx head; once loose, you can slide the can off the blaster.
Removing the Mounting System from your barrel
Depending on how tight your Barrel Nut is, the mounting system might be stuck on your barrel. Remove your rifling, loosen the Barrel Nut, and try to pull. If it still won’t come off, put a Wrench on the Barrel Shaft Main’s socket, grip your barrel with a pair of pliers, and twist. This should break it free and it will slide off cleanly.
