Minx

The Minx is a spring-powered bullpup blaster designed by Orion Blasters. It is the shortest commonplace bullpup springer capable of reaching 200 fps, which has made it a leading choice in competitive play where a compact form factor is valued. It uses Talon magazines with gravity drop and is primed by a foregrip mounted on Picatinny rail. Real-world velocity is around 150 to 200 fps; for higher velocity in a bullpup form factor, a Lynx or lonx is recommended. The printable files are published by Dan on Printables, based on the Orion Blasters design, and the hardware kit is sold by Out of Darts for $75, currently as a beta release. A competitive-favorite remix, the Nutty Minx, is also available.

Build & quality

The Minx was designed for compact power. Fitting a system capable of 200 fps into this short of a chassis leaves little margin, and the result trades some refinement for size. Chassis stiffness is moderate, on par with most 3D-printed blasters. Priming at 200 fps is demanding, the short stroke means a harder prime than longer blasters. Just like the Lynx, The Minx’s fire control group is weaker than average: the trigger and sear interface is small and can be prone to breakage.

Ergonomics

Priming is done with a foregrip mounted on a Picatinny rail, which can be swapped with the user’s choice. The main grip and the stock are both fixed, with no adjustment if the stock geometry does not suit the user. Sling points are built in. The Minx as sold by Out of Darts.

Maintenance

Maintenance follows the same pattern as the rest of the family. A single takedown pin at the front releases the spring and plunger for cleaning or replacement, and two thumb screws secure the barrel, allowing it to be swapped without tools. Spring pre-compression can be adjusted by loosening or tightening the lock nuts on the plunger.

Verdict

The Minx is the shortest mainstream spring-powered blaster that still reaches 200 fps, which makes it a standout for competitive players who prioritize a compact profile. At $75 the kit is in line with its counterpart the Lynx. Its main compromises are a stiff prime and a design that favors size over ease of use. For players who want maximum power in the smallest possible package, the Minx is a leading choice; those wanting an easier prime or a more forgiving build may prefer the Lynx or Lonx.
